DISCUSSION STARTERS

1. Monday—What does showing partiality mean and why does James push back against it so much? Discuss why favoritism is a constant struggle we have to live in God's family?

3. Wednesday—How do we dishonor people when we show favoritism? How do we dishonor God?
4. Thursday—What does "loving your neighbor as yourself" have to do with showing partiality? How does the law convict us when we are playing favorites?
5. Friday—Discuss the connection between the law and mercy. Why is it a contradiction to have faith in Christ and not show mercy to the oppressed?
