Faith, Hope and Love (1 Thessalonians 1:1-10)

FAITH, HOPE, AND LOVE

1 THESSALONIANS 1:1-10 | ACTS 17:1-9

When tired and exhausted, Christians need to go back to the basics—faith, hope, and love—to find strength to press forward.

  • Growing Tired (vv. 1-3; Acts 17:1-9)

  • Faith (vv. 1, 4-6, 8)

  • Hope (vv. 1, 6, 10)

  • Love (vv. 4-5, 7-10)

Discussion Starters

Monday—Do you ever grow tired in your faith and want to give up? What do you think leads Christians to grow weary?

Tuesday—Read Acts 17:1-9. What is the Thessalonians’ background with Paul, SIlas, and Timothy? How does this affect their relationship?

Wednesday—What is faith? In what way does faith look back? Do you ever question whether you are really a Christian or not?

Thursday—What is hope? How does hope look forward? Why is understanding the Last Day so important for not losing hope today?

Friday—What is love? How is love meant to occupy your time while you await Jesus’ return? To whom are you acts of love to be directed?
