The resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day is God’s sign to assure us that salvation belongs to our God and has been accomplished.

Discussion Starters

Monday—What are some of the bold claims of Christianity? Why is the resurrection a bold claim? Is it an important claim? Why? (1 Corinthians 15:12-19)

Tuesday—What’s at stake if Hezekiah dies? What’s at stake if he dies without an heir? How does his life or death represent the future of the the people?

Wednesday—What are some parallels between Hezekiah’s story in this passage and Jesus’ story? Is that an accident or intentional? What do you think God wants you to learn about Jesus from 2 Kings 20?

Thursday—How was the retreating shadow a fitting sign of what God had promised Hezekiah? How was it a sign of what Jesus, the greater king, would do?

Friday—What signs has God given to comfort you? What do they signify? How are they meant to be a comfort? Do you remember to stop and take comfort in them?
