No Small Parts (3 John 1-8)

Because Jesus is the main character in history, we all have supporting parts, but in his family there are no small parts.

  • Gaius (and the Missionaries… and the Gentiles) (vv. 1, 5-7)

  • Faithful Partner (vv. 5, 8)

  • Worthy of God’s Joy (vv. 2-4, 6)

Discussion Starters

Monday—Have you ever felt pressured to do full-time ministry? What was the reason given? How did it make you feel?

Tuesday—Who was Gaius? What made him unique? Why was a letter to him preserved as scripture for us to read?

Wednesday—What does it mean to be a “faithful partner”? What do you think God has called you to do in his family? What does faithfulness look like in light of that calling?

Thursday—How did Jesus show you love? Whom was he serving? How if faithfully serving the church like Gaius did a reflection of the love of Jesus?

Friday—Do you believe God rejoices when you humbly serve in the ways that he has gifted you and called you to serve? What are some ways you believe the Lord is calling to love and serve the church?
